Keynote, innovation in tech, where do we fit in?

Nitu Kaushal
Strategic Business Development Leader, Accenture Plc

Innovation in tech is at an all-time high, and we are seeing new developments every day that change the way we live, work, and interact with the world around us. In this keynote, we will explore the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and discuss where existing skills in tech will fit in the future.

Technology is moving at a breakneck pace, and it's not just limited to the latest smartphones and social media platforms. From artificial intelligence to blockchain, from 3D printing to autonomous vehicles, there are countless areas where innovation is driving progress forward. As we continue to innovate, it's important to consider the impact these new technologies will have on the workforce and the skills that will be needed in the future.

So where do existing skills in tech fit in? While some jobs may become automated, there will always be a need for skilled workers who can manage and operate these new technologies. For example, as we move towards a more automated workforce, data analysts and machine learning experts will be in high demand. Similarly, cybersecurity experts will become increasingly important as we rely more on digital systems and data storage. But it's not just about the technical skills, soft skills such as adaptability, creativity, and critical thinking will also be crucial. As technology continues to evolve, it will be necessary to keep learning and updating skills to stay relevant in the job market.

As we look towards the future, it's clear that the skills needed in tech will continue to evolve alongside new innovations. However, with the right mindset and a willingness to adapt, those in tech can continue to play an important role in shaping the future of technology and its impact on our society.

You may be thinking that a strategic move into a bigger role will shine a spotlight on your capability and you don’t feel 100% confident to take that on. You may fear having to re-learn in your new role and re-build your network. You may be questioning, what if you don’t get the support you need to succeed? All of these feelings are valid, and it is easy to focus on the what if I fail element, however, if you don’t become comfortable taking leaps of faith and silencing those voices, you will never know what it might feel like to fly…
